MEET MARGARET AND EVELYN.
Meet some of our incredible, brave patients that were treated in the most recent trip in November 2024.
In the first image, Margaret, only 19 years old has been enduring 8 months with a fistula.
Secondly, Evelyn, 25 has suffered a year with post birth fistula complication leaving her incontinent.
The smiles on their faces show the relief to finally be treated and get their lives back.
MEET GRACE.
After a stillbirth 14 years ago, Grace has been suffering from constant urine incontinence due to an obstetric fistula.
She had almost lost hope when we found her.
We successful operated on her.
The joy was palpable the next morning, when she woke up in a dry bed for the first time in 14 years.
MEET ROSE.
Rose was only 12 years old when she was sexually assaulted resulting in an extremely young childhood pregnancy. Her pelvis was too underdeveloped for natural delivery so the baby unfortunately got stuck and resulted in a still birth.
Rose didn't have the means or funds to get to a hospital, in addition to the awful still birth she ended up with an obstetric fistula. Since receiving her life changing surgery from The Alon Project, Rose has been given a second chance at life and was able to return to school finally.

MEET MARIE.
Marie, 25, gave birth in a remote village with no medical support. As her baby came out, her birth canal to her rectum was torn, leading to incontinence. We successfully treated her. Now she has gone back to living her life to the full and taking care of her child.
